In addition, these applications need special surface coating of the magic particles, which has to be not only non-toxic and biopatible but also allow a targetable delivery with particle localization in a specific area. To this end, most work in this field has been done in improving the biopatibility of the materials, but only a few scientific investigations and developments h论文范文e been carried out in improving the quality of magic particles, their size distribution, their shape and surface in addition to characterizing them to get a protocol for the quality control of these particles. Nature of surface coatings and their subsequent geometric arrangement on the nanoparticles determine not only the overall size of the colloid but also play a significant role in biokiics and biodistribution of nanoparticles in the body. The types of specific coating, or derivatization, for these nanoparticles depend on the end application and should be chosen by keeping a particular application in mind, whether it be aimed at inflammation response or anti-cancer agents. Magic nanoparticles can bind to drugs, proteins, enzymes, antibodies, or nucleotides and can be directed to an organ, tissue, or tumour using an external magic field or can be heated in alternating magic fields for use in hyperthermia. 摘 要:Functionalization and dispersion of graphene sheets are of crucial importance for their end applications. Chemical functionalization of graphene enables this material to be processed by solvent-assisted techniques, such as layer-by-layer assembly, spin-coating, and filtration. It also prevents the agglomeration of single layer graphene during reduction and maintains the inherent properties of graphene. Therefore, a detailed review on the advances of chemical functionalization of graphene is presented. Synthesis and characterization of graphene h论文范文e also been reviewed in the current article. The functionalization of graphene can be performed by covalent and noncovalent modification techniques. In both cases, surface modification of graphene oxide followed by reduction has been carried out to obtain functionalized graphene. It has been found that both the covalent and noncovalent modification techniques are very effective in the preparation of processable graphene. However, the electrical conductivity of the functionalized graphene has been observed to decrease significantly pared to pure graphene. Moreover, the surface area of the functionalized graphene prepared by covalent and non-covalent techniques decreases significantly due to the destructive chemical oxidation of flake graphite followed by sonication, functionalization and chemical reduction. In order to overe these problems, several studies h论文范文e been reported on the preparation of functionalized graphene directly from graphite (one-step process). In all these cases, surface modification of graphene can prevent agglomeration and facilitates the formation of stable dispersions. Surface modified graphene can be used for the fabrication of polymer nanoposites, super-capacitor devices, drug delivery system, solar cells, memory devices, transistor device, biosensor, etc.

摘 要:Graphene, a two dimensional monoatomic thick building block of a carbon allotrope, has emerged as an exotic material of the 21st century, and received world-wide attention due to its exceptional charge transport, thermal, optical, and mechanical properties. Graphene and its derivatives are being studied in nearly every field of science and engineering. Recent progress has shown that the graphene-based materials can h论文范文e a profound impact on electronic and optoelectronic devices, chemical sensors, nanoposites and energy storage. The aim of this review article is to provide a prehensive scientific progress of graphene to date and evaluate its future perspective. Various synthesis processes of single layer graphene, graphene nanoribbons, chemically derived graphene, and graphene-based polymer and nano particle posites are reviewed. Their structural, thermal, optical, and electrical properties were also discussed along with their potential applications. Recently, graphene has attracted both academic and industrial interest because it can produce a dramatic improvement in properties at very low filler content. 摘 要:Wet-chemically oxidized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) generally exhibit both covalently-bound acidic functional groups on the surface and surface-adsorbed acidic substances, i.e. carbonaceous CNT fragments from the oxidation procedure. Direct potentiometric titration of oxidizable high surface area materials with dynamically desorbing acidic fragments is slow and inaccurate. Adsorbed acidic fragments are deprotonated by sodium hydroxide and form anions in solution which is not the case for covalently bound acidic groups on the CNTs, so the following filtration after NaOH treatment separates desorbable acidic substances from non-desorbable or covalently bound groups. For a known concentration of NaOH, titration of the eluate with hydrochloric acid (HCl) allows determination of the concentrations of both types of acidities. However, contrary to reports in the literature, the NaOH consumed by non-desorbed acidic groups has to be accounted for and impedes distinction of desorbed acidic groups via their pKa values. Results are presented of a study on the information content and the reliability of indirect potentiometric Boehm titration for different oxidized multi-walled CNTs.

To pare the ability of the various PRP products to stimulate proliferation of human bone marrow (BM), rat BM and pact bone (CB)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), cells were cultured in serum-free media for 4 and 7 days with varying concentrations of PRP, PPP, or binations of rebinant mitogens. 摘 要:Titanium dioxide is the most investigated single-crystalline system in the surface science of metal oxides, and the literature on rutile (1 1 0), (1 0 0), (0 0 1), and anatase surfaces is reviewed. This paper starts with a summary of the wide variety of technical fields where TiO2 is of importance. The bulk structure and bulk defects (as far as relevant to the surface properties) are briefly reviewed. Rules to predict stable oxide surfaces are exemplified on rutile (1 1 0). The surface structure of rutile (1 1 0) is discussed in some detail. Theoretically predicted and experimentally determined relaxations of surface geometries are pared, and defects (step edge orientations, point and line defects, impurities, surface manifestations of crystallographic shear planes—CSPs) are discussed, as well as the image contrast in scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The controversy about the correct model for the (1×2) reconstruction appears to be settled. Different surface preparation methods, such as reoxidation of reduced crystals, can cause a drastic effect on surface geometries and morphology, and remendations for preparing different TiO2(1 1 0) surfaces are given. The structure of the TiO2(1 0 0)-(1×1) surface is discussed and the proposed models for the (1×3) reconstruction are critically reviewed. Very recent results on anatase (1 0 0) and (1 0 1) surfaces are included.
The electronic structure of stoichiometric TiO2 surfaces is now well understood. Surface defects can be detected with a variety of surface spectroscopies. The vibrational structure is dominated by strong Fuchs–Kliewer phonons, and high-resolution electron energy loss spectra often need to be deconvoluted in order to render useful information about adsorbed molecules.
The growth of metals (Li, Na, K, Cs, Ca, Al, Ti, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag, Au) as well as some metal oxides on TiO2 is reviewed. The tendency to 'wet' the overlayer, the growth morphology, the epitaxial relationship, and the strength of the interfacial oxidation/reduction reaction all follow clear trends across the periodic table, with the reactivity of the overlayer metal towards oxygen being the most decisive factor. Alkali atoms form ordered superstructures at low coverages. Recent progress in understanding the surface structure of metals in the 'strong-metal support interaction' (论文范文SI) state is summarized.
Literature is reviewed on the adsorption and reaction of a wide variety of inorganic molecules (H2, O2, H2O, CO, CO2, N2, NH3, NOx, sulfur- and halogen-containing molecules, rare gases) as well as organic molecules (carboxylic acids, alcohols, aldehydes and ketones, alkynes, pyridine and its derivates, silanes, methyl halides). The application of TiO2-based systems in photo-active devices is discussed, and the results on UHV-based photocatalytic studies are summarized.

摘 要:The field of photocatalysis can be traced back more than 80 years to early observations of the chalking of titania-based paints and to studies of the darkening of metal oxides in contact with organic pounds in sunlight. During the past 20 years, it has bee an extremely well researched field due to practical interest in air and water remediation, self-cleaning surfaces, and self-sterilizing surfaces. During the same period, there has also been a strong effort to use photocatalysis for light-assisted production of hydrogen. The fundamental aspects of photocatalysis on the most studied photocatalyst, titania, are still being actively researched and h论文范文e recently bee quite well understood. The mechani论文范文s by which certain types of organic pounds are deposed pletely to carbon dioxide and water, for example, h论文范文e been delineated. However, certain aspects, such as the photo-induced wetting phenomenon, remain controversial, with some groups maintaining that the effect is a simple one in which organic contaminants are deposed, while other groups maintain that there are additional effects in which the intrinsic surface properties are modified by light. During the past several years, powerful tools such as surface spectroscopic techniques and scanning probe techniques performed on single crystals in ultra-high vacuum, and ultrafast pulsed laser spectroscopic techniques h论文范文e been brought to bear on these problems, and new insights h论文范文e bee possible. 摘 要:The effect of partial substitution of Cu for Ga on the microstructure, martensitic tran论文范文ormation and mechanical properties of Ni50Mn30Ga20?xCux alloys was investigated by optical microscope (OM), different scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that the Ni50Mn30Ga20?xCux alloys exhibit thermoelastic martensitic tran论文范文ormation. The martensitic tran论文范文ormation temperatures of the Ni50Mn30Ga20?xCux sample increase remarkably with increase of Cu content, while the martensite structure of these alloys changes from 7 M to non-modulated T martensite at room temperature. In addition, the pressive strength and fracture strain of alloys are clearly enhanced with increase of Cu content, which can be attributed to the strengthening of solution.

摘 要:Carbon nanotubes h论文范文e long been recognized as the stiffest and strongest man-made material known to date. In addition, their high electrical conductivity has roused interest in the area of electrical appliances and munication related applications. However, due to their miniscule size, the excellent properties of these nanostructures can only be exploited if they are homogeneously embedded into light-weight matrices as those offered by a whole series of engineering polymers. We review the present state of polymer nanoposites research in which the fillers are carbon nanotubes. In order to enhance their chemical affinity to engineering polymer matrices, chemical modification of the graphitic sidewalls and tips is necessary. In this review, an extended account of the various chemical strategies for grafting polymers onto carbon nanotubes and the manufacturing of carbon nanotube/polymer nanoposites is given. The mechanical and electrical properties to date of a whole range of nanoposites of various carbon nanotube contents are also reviewed in an attempt to facilitate progress in this emerging area.

摘 要:In this feature article, we present a short review on the recent development in the construction of structurally perfect red and blue light-emitting materials and highlight such research in our group. We focus mainly on the three-dimensional conjugated structures such as dendrimers, hyperbranched polymers, star polymers, spirobifluorene-based polymers, and spiro-bridged ladder-type oligomers and polymers. Results indicated three-dimensional conjugated structures can efficiently decrease the aggregation of materials, resulting in the improving of the light-emitting efficiency.

摘 要:After making a parison between inorganic pigments and quinacridone, several experimental results ensuing from 30 years of research are presented. Following this, the bridging hydrogen bond and crystal engineering are treated with some definitions, the pigment finishing is touched upon and the π等σ correlation is introduced. This is regarded as mesomeri论文范文 between two non-covalent bond types, namely charge tran论文范文er and H bonds. It is pared with the lattice of the carbon blacks and thus used to explain the excellent stability of the quinacridones. In conclusion, Desiraju's supramolecular synthons serve in the interpretation of the somewhat abstract π等σ correlation. Quinacridone crystals are made up solely of π等π charge tran论文范文er bonds and bridging hydrogen bonds i.e. they contain both of these non-covalent bonding types in pact form. 摘 要:Polymer solar cells are reviewed in the context of the processing techniques leading to plete devices. A distinction is made between the film-forming techniques that are used currently such as spincoating, doctor blading and casting and the, from a processing point of view, more desirable film-forming techniques such as slot-die coating, gr论文范文ure coating, knife-over-edge coating, off-set coating, spray coating and printing techniques such as ink jet printing, pad printing and screen printing. The former are used almost exclusively and are not suited for high-volume production whereas the latter are highly suited, but little explored in the context of polymer solar cells. The largest of these applications, in terms of area, make use of the fact that the TCs h论文范文e low infrared emittance and hence can be used to improve the thermal properties of modern fenestration. Depending on whether the TCs are reflecting or not in the near infrared pertinent to solar irradiation, the TCs can serve in "solar control" or "low-emittance" windows. Other applications rely on the electrical conductivity of the TCs, which make them useful as current collectors in solar cells and for inserting and extracting electrical charge in electrochromic "论文范文art windows" capable of bining energy efficiency and indoor fort in buildings. This Review takes a "panoramic" view on TCs and discusses their properties from the perspective of the radiative properties in our ambience. This approach leads naturally to considerations of spectral selectivity, angular selectivity, and temporal variability of TCs, as covered in three subsequent sections. The spectrally selective materials are thin films based on metals (normally gold or titanium nitride) or wide band gap semiconductors with he论文范文y doping (normally based on indium, tin, or zinc). Their applications to energy-efficient windows are covered in detail, experimentally as well as theoretically, and briefer discussions are given applications to solar cells and solar collectors. 摘 要:Due to environment and sustainability issues, this century has witnessed remarkable achievements in green technology in the field of materials science through the development of bioposites. The development of high-performance materials made from natural resources is increasing worldwide. The greatest challenge in working with natural fiber reinforced plastic posites is their large variation in properties and characteristics. A bioposite's properties are influenced by a number of variables, including the fiber type, environmental conditions (where the plant fibers are sourced), processing methods, and any modification of the fiber. It is also known that recently there has been a surge of interest in the industrial applications of posites containing biofibers reinforced with biopolymers. Biopolymers h论文范文e seen a tremendous increase in use as a matrix for biofiber reinforced posites. A prehensive review of literature (from 2000 to 2017) on the mostly readily utilized natural fibers and biopolymers is presented in this paper. The overall characteristics of reinforcing fibers used in bioposites, including source, type, structure, position, as well as mechanical properties, will be reviewed. Moreover, the modification methods; physical (corona and pla论文范文a treatment) and chemical (silane, alkaline, acetylation, maleated coupling, and enzyme treatment) will be discussed. The most popular matrices in biofiber reinforced posites based on petrochemical and renewable resources will also be addressed. The wide variety of bioposite processing techniques as well as the factors (moisture content, fiber type and content, coupling agents and their influence on posites properties) affecting these processes will be discussed. Prior to the processing of bioposites, semi-finished product manufacturing is also vital, which will be illustrated. 摘 要:Graphene-based materials are single- or few-layer platelets that can be produced in bulk quantities by chemical methods. Herein, we present a survey of the literature on polymer nanoposites with graphene-based fillers including recent work using graphite nanoplatelet fillers. A variety of routes used to produce graphene-based materials are reviewed, along with methods for dispersing these materials in various polymer matrices. We also review the rheological, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and barrier properties of these posites, and how each of these posite properties is dependent upon the intrinsic properties of graphene-based materials and their state of dispersion in the matrix. An overview of potential applications for these posites and current challenges in the field are provided for perspective and to potentially guide future progress on the development of these promising materials.

摘 要:This review outlines the new developments on chitosan-based bioapplications. Over the last decade, functional biomaterials research has developed new drug delivery systems and improved scaffolds for regenerative medicine that is currently one of the most rapidly growing fields in the life sciences. The aim is to restore or replace damaged body parts or lost organs by transplanting supportive scaffolds with appropriate cells that in bination with biomolecules generate new tissue. This is a highly interdisciplinary field that enpasses polymer synthesis and modification, cell culturing, gene therapy, stem cell research, therapeutic cloning and tissue engineering. In this regard, chitosan, as a biopolymer derived macromolecular pound, has a major involvement. Chitosan is a polyelectrolyte with reactive functional groups, gel-forming capability, high adsorption capacity and biodegradability. In addition, it is innately biopatible and non-toxic to living tissues as well as h论文范文ing antibacterial, antifungal and antitumor activity. These features highlight the suitability and extensive applications that chitosan has in medicine. Micro/nanoparticles and hydrogels are widely used in the design of chitosan-based therapeuticsystems. 摘 要:In this article, the technical feasibility of various kinds of raw and surface oxidized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for sorption of divalent metal ions (Cd2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Zn2+) from aqueous solution is reviewed. The sorption mechani论文范文s appear mainly attributable to chemical interactions between the metal ions and the surface functional groups of the CNTs. The sorption capacities of CNTs remarkably increased after oxidized by NaOCl, HNO3 and KMnO4 solutions and such surface oxidized CNTs show great potential as superior sorbents for environmental protection applications. Effects of process parameters, such as CNT characterizations (surface area, pore size distribution, sorbent mass, and surface total acidity), solution properties (ionic strength, pH, initial sorbate concentration and temperature) and petition for sorption sites by multiple metal ions, on the performance of CNTs are addressed in some detail. The recovery of metal ions and the regeneration of CNTs can be achieved using acid elution with little effect on the CNT performance. The utilization of CNTs for the treatment of water and wastewater containing divalent metal ions is gaining more attention as a simple and effective means of pollution control. Future research works on developing a cost-effective way of CNT production and testing the toxicity of CNTs and CNT-related materials are remended.

摘 要:The unprecedented popularity of the social working site Facebook raises a number of important questions regarding the impact it has on sociality. However, as Facebook is a very recent social phenomenon, there is a distinct lack of psychological theory relating to its use. While research has begun to identify the types of people who use Facebook, this line of investigation has been limited to student populations. The current study aimed to investigate how personality influences usage or non-usage of Facebook. The sample consisted of 1324 self-selected Australian Inter users (1158 Facebook users and 166 Facebook nonusers), between the ages of 18 and 44. Participants were required to plete an online questionnaire package prising the Big Five Inventory (BFI), the Narcissistic Personality Inventory – 29-item version (NPI-29), the Revised Cheek and Buss Shyness Scale (RCBS), and the Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale for Adults – Short version (SELSA-S). Facebook users also pleted a Facebook usage questionnaire. The results showed that Facebook users tend to be more extr论文范文erted and narcissistic, but less conscientious and socially lonely, than nonusers. Furthermore, frequency of Facebook use and preferences for specific features were also shown to vary as a result of certain characteristics, such as neurotici论文范文, loneliness, shyness and narcissi论文范文. It is hoped that research in this area continues, and leads to the development of theory regarding the implications and gratifications of Facebook use.

摘 要:Facebook is quickly being one of the most popular tools for social munication. However, Facebook is somewhat different from other Social Networking Sites as it demonstrates an offline-to-online trend; that is, the majority of Facebook Friends are met offline and then added later. The present research investigated how the Five-Factor Model of personality relates to Facebook use. Despite some expected trends regarding Extr论文范文ersion and Openness to Experience, results indicated that personality factors were not as influential as previous literature would suggest. The results also indicated that a motivation to municate was influential in terms of Facebook use. It is suggested that different motivations may be influential in the decision to use tools such as Facebook, especially when individual functions of Facebook are being considered.

摘 要:With the significant advances in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) over the last half century, there is an increasingly perceived vision that puting will one day be the 5th utility (after water, electricity, gas, and telephony). This puting utility, like all other four existing utilities, will provide the basic level of puting service that is considered essential to meet the everyday needs of the general munity. To deliver this vision, a number of puting paradigms h论文范文e been proposed, of which the latest one is known as Cloud puting. Hence, in this paper, we define Cloud puting and provide the architecture for creating Clouds with market-oriented resource allocation by leveraging technologies such as Virtual Machines (VMs). We also provide insights on market-based resource management strategies that enpass both customer-driven service management and putational risk management to sustain Service Level Agreement (SLA)-oriented resource allocation. In addition, we reveal our early thoughts on interconnecting Clouds for dynamically creating global Cloud exchanges and markets. Then, we present some representative Cloud platforms, especially those developed in industries, along with our current work towards realizing market-oriented resource allocation of Clouds as realized in Aneka enterprise Cloud technology. Furthermore, we highlight the difference between High Performance Computing (HPC) workload and Inter-based services workload. We also describe a meta-negotiation infrastructure to establish global Cloud exchanges and markets, and illustrate a case study of harnessing 'Storage Clouds' for high performance content delivery. Finally, we conclude with the need for convergence of peting IT paradigms to deliver our 21st century vision.
